Okay, when we last talked about this project, I had primed the table top. I got so excited I didn't even think about priming the leaf for the table or buying the actual paint!
The next day I went to the store, and I bought some satin white paint for the top and some Olympic paint in Red Gumball.
I decided to go ahead and prime and paint the leaf as well.
I primed the pedestal with the same primer I primed the table top with. Turns out that was a mistake. When I put the red paint over the white primer, it came out pink.
Several coats later, it still looked too pink to me.
I went back to Lowes and returned the Red Gumball and got Cut Ruby by Valspar. I figured it wouldn't hurt to go back over it with a darker red and see if that made it less pink.
I should have primed it with a gray-based primer. But you live and learn, right?
It's not perfect, but it's better than before! Now, I've got to add another layer of white on the table top and then put polyacrylic down to seal it!
