Misadventures in Baking: Part 2

I did it again, y'all. I attempted to bake.

It didn't go very well. I thought it was going great. My house smelled like delicious banana bread and Jared was pumped! But I was pretty wrong...Let me start at the beginning.

My friend texted me this recipe. When I read back over it, I realized that the last message sounds like part of the recipe, but it's not.Don't worry. It's a reference to this youtube video about sea pigs, which is hysterical and a little gross.

I wrote it out all pretty on a recipe card and got started!

Here's the recipe for y'all if you decide to try it!

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 beaten eggs
1 cup mashed banana
1/3 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Add the ingredients together and stir well.

So far so good.

Grease bread pan and sprinkle with corn meal. Add to loaf pan. HERE'S WHERE I MESSED UP. That's not a loaf pan. I thought it was because what else would you use such a tiny glass dish for?

Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. If you use a cupcake pan, bake for 20 minutes.

Also, cover yourself in flour. That seems mandatory.

About 20 minutes in, I smelled something burning. When I investigated, this is what I found. BANANA BREAD OVERFLOW!

I let it finish baking and taste tested it. It was pretty good. Jared compared it to banana cornbread, which seems weird, so next time I'll use a little less corn meal. And an actual loaf pan.

Am I the only one who has baking problems?
