Spring Cleaning Around the Grounds!

I have a friend who refers to her yard as "the grounds" and it sounds so fancy. I love it. I decided to take advantage of this pretty weather and work outside on our grounds yesterday. Spring is definitely on it's way around here!

I think these pansies are happy for warmer weather.

I'm excited about the new growth on my oak-leaf hydrangea.

These sedums are from my great-grandma Gladys.

Peach blossoms!

I'm not sure what kind of rose this is, but I love how hardy it is.

Dogwood blossoms.

I'm going to plant this vinca soon.

After Jared got off work, he got in the backyard and started clearing out the giant pile of debris left over from our deck project. Here's the before shot I took from the deck:

and here's after:

It might not look like much progress, but believe me, it is a big deal to have that much gone!

And in case you don't believe me when I tell you that our yard is crazy, here's a picture from halfway down the yard to show how steep it is.

And of course, here's Puck!

Even if it's just a little progress at a time, it feels good to make the yard look better.
