Some people might be wondering what I've been up to lately. I'll tell you! I've been recovering from second degree burns. On my foot. From boiling water. Thankfully, after scraping the burnt skin off (ew.), scrubbing the wound out (ow!), and covering the open place with cadaver skin (weirrrdddd!), I can finally wear shoes again and I'm no longer in pain!
It's never a good idea to boil your foot. In addition to trying to cook my foot, we also had a leaky garage pipe situation, and our little puppy has heartworms! In spite of all the rough stuff going on this month, God has been (and always will be) our Great Provider. I haven't been able to do as much work outside of the house like I usually would, but he has sent Jared the most business he has ever had. I've had some pretty good orders come in through my etsy store (www.upcycleddownriver.etsy.com) as well. We've actually never brought in this much money as a couple since we've been married! And the month isn't over yet! Praise Jesus!
It's been about 3 weeks since I burnt myself and I am much better now, but it's put me a bit behind! I've still been able to work on some things, so here's some photos of what I've been working on. (On a related note, I've recently discovered Instagram for Android, and I love it! Follow me @TristanTuttle!)
I had a custom order for a set of mason jar wine glasses for an upcoming wedding, so here they are:
I also had an order for a custom brooch bouquet, so that was last Crafty Day's dedicated project! I'm about half-way finished with this one!
I also started a group of flowers made from funky plates and cups that I had in my basement stash. I attached the backs today, but this is my favorite one!
To let off a bit of steam, Jared and I went with my parents and my sister to see the Punch Brothers at the Variety Playhouse in Little 5 last night night. Basically the best show I've ever seen by any band ever. ever. ever.
We took Puck on a ride today when we went to Home Depot to get the rest of the stuff I needed for the plate flowers, and I think she liked it!
And to top off the awesome weekend, Jared and I had supper on our wonderful deck (built by the handsome man himself) and enjoyed the pleasant evening weather!
Now that my foot is all better, I'm hoping to get back to work and get some of our projects that we've got lined up finished! We're hoping that over these next few months we stain the deck, move my fountain, build a chicken coop and get it all set up for some chickens, and finish up some little things around here. What have y'all been up to?
